We have welcomed Ramadhan Alhamdulillah. As we observe and increase our supererogatory acts of worship in this blessed month, lets not forget the disenfranchised and those living below the poverty line which are still many in Singapore. Make this month a stepping stone to help ease their burden. We all live in this illusion or bubble thinking that the poor here are well taken care of in this month by the Mosques or Governmental organizations. There are still many out there whose plight are being ignored by the authorities despite countless appeals for help and listening to how much they have suffered but still remain patient will just break your heart into pieces. No help is deemed as insignificant, no matter how small the form of help is. I remember Shaykh Abdul Aziz Fredericks (May Allah Preserve him) related the Hadith of Rasulullah SAW, ...Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother... (Sahih Muslim). We all want His help in our struggle to fight our nafs this Ramadhan, InshaAllah He will make it easier for us when we help those struggling to have enough in their daily lives. I am reminding myself first and foremost and this is not a reminder for those reading but just an encouragement to do what you can. Ramadhan Mubarak to all.
