We havent told you what weve been up to so maybe its time to spill the beans on all of our work this summer and beyond! July 2014: -We produced DETROIT by Lisa DAmour at The Alban Arts and Conference Center with actors Adam Bryan, Marlette Carter, Tyler Eldridge and Mariah Plante -Led an amazing arts and science camp with the Clay Centers Explore and Soar program for 40 middle school students in Boone County. They wrote, directed and starred in their very own zombie movie! (which was awesome!) -We stayed up for approximately 30 hours (low estimate) to complete Paper Theatre, a childrens theatre installation at the Clay Centers Avampato Discovery Museum. Designed by Christopher Lee Clark and Leah Turley. August/September 2024: -We led upwards of 75 students through a number of specialized workshops focusing on actor/director expectations, scene study, sensory awareness concepts, script analysis and advanced acting techniques including Chekhov, Suzuki, Meisner and Laban. -In fact, this Saturday from 10am-2pm Leah is leading the third and final acting workshop in her workshop series at ARTS Resources for the Tri-State. This workshop will focus specifically on monologue prep. (Bring a prepared monologue and you will spend specific time with Leah and the class preparing for your audition. If you dont have a prepared piece, no worries! Just bring a piece youre interested in!) October 2014: -We have been lucky enough to work with a very special local artist for our next round of Appalachian Artists Collective t-shirts. We cant reveal everything just yet, but its really really really cool and we are INSANELY excited. We hope to have a new t-shirt campaign up and running by mid November. Just in time for the holidays! 2015: -We are once again excited to partner with the Clay Centers Explore and Soar program to produce the second annual Voices of the Mountain: a collection of student written one acts from Madison Middle School in Boone County. This completely unique production takes the creative writing work of middle school students and fully realizes their work with professional actors at the Clay Centers Walker Theater. -The collective will meet mid-November to discuss our next production but were thinking something classic? What do you think? What should we produce next? You tell us..... Thank you all for your continued support! We love West Virginia and we hope to speak for the current generation of Appalachians and all those that come after us. WE LOVE DUB V!
