We hear a lot of talk about the pineal gland in the spiritual community as being a 3rd eye, and often point to pineal gland symbolism in ancient traditions around the world as evidence for its spiritual significance. But what a lot of people arent aware of, is that the pineal gland literally has photoreceptors (rods and cones) lining its interior, just like the retina of the eye. We now have the scientific proof that it is literally a biological third eye.
