We heard testimony today in House Committee on Natural Resources that all-of-the-above American energy production would unleash job creation and increase opportunities for skilled labor. Skilled trades—welders, pipefitters, electricians and others—provide good-paying opportunities and are in high demand, especially in the energy industries. We have an enormous potential to increase these opportunities by adopting policies that encourage all-of-the-above energy development—as many as 1.4 million new jobs by 2030 in oil and gas production alone. This would expand the tax base and create resources for infrastructure, education and countless other uses. That’s why I’m fighting to get government out of the way so we can unleash this potential for American jobs and American energy security.
