We help a daughter, grand-daughter and great grand- daughter find a care home last week that specializes in patients who suffer from strokes. When we met these wonderful ladies at Healthsouth they had no idea what an assisted living was or where to begin their search for the next step of care required. We took our time and explained all of the differences in the levels of care that was available to them, we looked at what part of town they would want to be in, and finally at the budget that we had to work with. We listened to the story of her life and of her wonderful husband that is no longer with them and there we found a glimmer of hope... Her husband was on active duty during war time and because of that she qualified for a program called Aid and Attendance. This benefit provides her with a little bit over a thousand dollars per month to help pay for her assisted living. So with that we she moved into her new home on Monday into a private room and her daughter, grand-daughter, and great grand-daughter are extremely happy with the outcome.
