We here at Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center are very saddened to hear of the death of 14 year old San Lorenzo High School freshman, Ivan Cruz. Ivan was in the crosswalk at Ashland Ave and E. 14th St. when he was struck by a speeding vehicle that was being pursued by Alameda County Sheriffs deputies. This tragedy occurred in close vicinity to our health clinic in Ashland and our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to Ivan’s family and friends, as well as the Ashland community.
