We hereby strongly condemn the attack and killings of passengers - TopicsExpress

We hereby strongly condemn the attack and killings of passengers who were travelling from Mandera to Nairobi. The heinous attack is immoral, ungodly, stupid, criminal and a crime against humanity! No religion, including Christianity and Islam, teaches that people kill others of diverse faiths and origin. Both Christianity and Islam teach love to strangers and forgiveness even to enemies. We urge all Kenyans to get united irrespective of their religious and political affiliation and irrespective of their ethnicity or race and ensure true peace and end of the culture of violence, corruption, impunity, injustice and exclusion! We also urge Somali nationals of goodwill to end the culture of violence in Somalia and enable peace to take root and thrive so that all Somalis can also live in peace and take part in positive activities for themselves, their country and the world. Those who engage in attacks against Kenyans should be stopped. We urge Kenyan authorities to ensure travellers in North East and Northern Kenya are accorded armed escorts as has always been the case since the days of the Shifta war! Kenyan authorities should not forget the fact that history keeps repeating itself unless something bold and positive is done to stop it from such recurrence. Kenyan authorities should open up North East and Northern Kenya to development. It should construct modern roads, airports, hospitals, schools, towns, cities, shopping centres, tourist resorts, hotels, etc., in the areas and others in Kenya so that people can take part in economic activities in an environment of enhanced opportunity! Most importantly, we urge Kenyan authorities to act firmly and end the culture of corruption and exclusion that rides on the crescendo and wave of tribalism and poses great danger to Kenyas unity, democracy, peace, stability and rule of law. It will take Kenyans to make the country safe, peaceful, trouble-free and prosperous! That is why all Kenyans must deliberately unite! United ,we stand, should not be just a slogan but a culture, practice and norm. Unity matters always. So does peace! Lest anyone forgets!
