We hiring Marine Technical Superintendent with 3 years experience within small vessel sector. Areas of Responsibility Involved in planning and managing the technical operation of a fleet of harbour/ terminal tugs and small crafts. Develop and supervise preventive maintenance and repair works to be carried out in the most efficient manner in accordance with planned schedules & budget allocations and in compliance with regulatory requirements Plan and supervise dry-docking, repairs, maintenance and surveys when required Ensure timely preparation, filing and dispatch of required reports and ensure vessel specifications and equipment details are updated at all times Procure technical and operational/crew supplies and ensure proper inventory control and optimum stock level maintenance Inventory control and negotiation with local suppliers & contactors over the cost, availability and supply of stores and spare parts Co-ordinate the use of labour and equipment to minimise maintenance costs, monitor progress and evaluate results Monitor the work performance of the Chief Engineer and technical staff. Monitor the work performance of the shore side staff including Marine mechanic, fitter etc. Assist in recruitment, selection and training of vessel Engineers in consultation with the Technical/Marine Manager in accordance with company guidelines Liaise with customers on operational and vessel performance matters Strict compliance with all Health, Safety, & Environment rules, regulations, company policies and processes when/where applicable and enforcing those among crew. Other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time, as delegated by the Technical Manager/Marine Manager. Required Qualifications and Personal Attributes Diploma/ degree holder preferably in marine, mechanical engineering. Good diagnostic skills Preferably 3 years’ relevant technical experience. Similar technical experience, ideally within small vessel sector (towage and/or offshore) Familiarity with maritime rules and regulations, codes and guidelines, ISM code, ISPS requirements and Class survey cycle Experience with and knowledge of modern marine technology such as coating systems, medium speed engines, thrusters’ and winch installations Budget formulation, monitoring and cost management skills Excellent prioritization and time management skills with the ability to delegate tasks as required. A commitment to and high degree of awareness of Quality and HSE issues Proficient in IT systems including Microsoft office Professional, proactive, strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills Strong communication and people skills Firm belief that all accidents can be avoided Leadership skills Professional communication with internal and external stakeholders Ability to deliver results in a time pressured environment Multi-tasking Interested Candidates Post CVs to [email protected]
