We hope we find you well ,it has come to pain us that the Ndebele speaking people in our beatifull country are crying out for teachers of Ndebele subject in Matebeleland .The point is mostly teachers of Ndebele are scarce and the language might die a natural death as a carricula subject. We feel the issue is addressed rightly so in the constitution of Zimbabwe and should have modalities in place of recognising all national languages in our schools in particular .However it must be pointed out that Shona and Ndebele in our carriculah are the common languages spoken by indegenous Zimbabweans and must be compulsory at every school in Zimbabwe.Yes the ndebele are genuine in their concerns that their language is less spoken in Mashonaland but however it is also not in the spirit of nationalism to plant seeds of tribalistic nature but to correct a situation .There are conspiracy theories flying around regarding Matebeleland and the gvt must move in quickly and responsibly to address such issues relating to development and segregation as allegged. However it should be gvt policy to make sure that like english ,ndebele and shona are compulsory languages. It must not be an element of choice but an obligation to be fluent in Ndebele and Shona that way we will remove the stigma associated with ndebele as a language. The people of Matebeleland must realise their roots are in Zimbabwe and fighting for what is right must never be regarded as a secret society or cult.Lets be open about Matebeleland and the ndebele people as Zimbabweans and part if the greater picture by being inclusive and participatory fully in the political system. Its good to have politics but a tribalistic card must never have a place in Zimbabwe. We feel the gvt must urgently employ temporary Ndebele teachers and train formal teachers as a matter if urgency for all schools in the country and also deploy shona subject teachers to Matebeleland as a matter of urgency and long term national security.
