We interrupt this broadcast to bring you this special news bulletin from Rhodes University, Grahamstown. Zimbabwe University’s South African campus, Rhodes University, has decided to open a polling station in the Eastern Cape Province, for the upcoming Zimbabwe general elections. In an uncharacteristic move, President Robert Mugabe, confirmed voting polls will open on the 31st of July 2013, at strategic points on the Rhodes Campus. The move comes in light of the successful partnership between the Zimbabwe government and Rhodes University, which demands that every year Zimbabwean nationals have to make up at least 50% of the Rhodes Student population. Mugabe added, “It only seems fair, because a significant amount of Zimbabweans will lose the chance to vote if no polling station is opened in Grahamstown, it speaks volumes of how democratic my government is”. Mugabe however failed to confirm or deny rumors that Zimbabwe was in fact plotting to annex Grahamstown completely and make it a Zimbabwean colony. Polling Stations as earlier alluded will be placed at strategic locations in areas with a high concentration of Zimbabwe nationals. They will start on the 31st of July from 08:00 Hours to 10:00 Hours at the Rhodes University Library and another polling station will open from 23:00 Hours to 02:00 Hours at Oldies Nightclub. This is the Rhodes University Gentleman and I approve this message. #RhodesUniversity #WhereZimbabweansLearn
