We interrupt your Taco Tuesday for a very important announcement! Today is a very special Tuesday as its Veterans Day. I would like to take a moment to appreciate and thank not only the current soldiers and veterans of the US army, but also those who have proudly and valiantly served and are serving their countries around the world. No matter who you are or where you are, youre living somewhere. Wherever youre living, people who are fighting for you are right under your nose. Pictured here (on the right in both pictures) is my very special grandpa, who died naught 3 months ago. He was 96 when he died, and served as the Tech Sargent in charge of the motor pool in the 99th Infantry Battalion Separate, an all Norwegian speaking unit in World War II. I really wish I had asked him to tell more stories, because I found out much later that it was a very important group. Important enough that a few years ago, my mother (his daughter) and he went to Washington DC to be honored and have dinner with extremely high ranking officials of Norway. Without him serving and surviving, I wouldnt be who I am today, nor would I even be here. Thank you veterans. Thank you current troops. Thank you whoever you are, wherever you are, whomever you serve. Be proud and stand tall because each and every one of you are important to your country.
