We introduce our LMC Judge for this month: Ared Arzumanian is a producer, writer, remixer, and recording artist formerly with Universal Music and BMG. He typically works in top 40 - pop, urban, and edm genres - but is versatile and can extend his work to other genres as well. His music has been released on several record labels including Hi-Bias Records, Odeon Records, Popular Records, SPG Music Records, Universal Music Canada, BMG Music Canada, and BMG Music Poland. In 1995, Ared co-wrote the hit single Open Up Your Heart that charted at number 1 across Canada, as well as 3 top ten singles to follow which he co-wrote and co-produced. One of those singles was the hit Zodiac which was released by Universal Music in 2000. In the same year, several songs written and produced by Ared were used as part of the soundtrack to the feature film More to Love (1999, directed by Paul Lynch), which won the Feature Film Award for Best Romantic Comedy (1999) at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival. Then in 2002, Ared and his associate were signed by Uomo/BMG, which formerly managed Shawn Desman among other BMG Canada artists. During that time, Ared co-produced a remix on Shawn Desmans first gold record Get Ready, which was aired on Electric Circus (CITY TV) across Canada. Ared has also had the opportunity to work on remixes for artists including TLC, Gloria Gaynor, Amerie, Lyric (feat. Loon), Jerzee Monet (feat. DMX), Jarvis Church, Choclair (feat. Kurupt), Ghetto Concept, Nicci Gilbert, and Andrea Lewis. More recently, he has collaborated on projects with artists including Kristinia DeBarge (Island Def Jam), Brooklyn Haley, Anastasia A (Ultra/DMD), Porsha (Ultra), Craig Smart, Venus Casino (BMG Chrysalis), and Thane (6N7). Ared has co-written with diamond selling producer/writer Peter Willis (Alannah Myles), Grammy Award winning Liz Rodrigues (Eminem, Pink, Dr. Dre, Pitbull, 50 Cent, Dan Hill), Erik Alcock (Eminem, Pink, Pitbull, Slaughterhouse, Tyga), Taya Marquis (Britney Spears, Ke$ha), and has toplined for songs under Ole Publishing. Ared also recently finished producing a project for a US artist with co-producer Kip Blackshire (Prince, Eminem). Ared is currently writing and producing originals for Ramiro Productions Inc., a management company that represents Vita Chambers and other recording artists. He is also part of a team of producers and writers under a German-based record label. To date, Ared has worked on projects with artists, writers, and producers around the globe including Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Poland, Armenia, Singapore, and Japan. Ared is no stranger to helping the music community. Throughout his 20-year career, he has mentored hundreds of aspiring artists, songwriters and producers to help them develop their craft and set them up for success.
