We just finished up our Family BBQ & are heading down to our last 2014 Boy Scout Campfire Circle. As you know as much as we hate to admit it, summer is almost over & the days are starting to get a little shorter. Weve shown you some great pictures of some of the things that we get to see during the day. Well, heres a little taste of our night life here. We think its equally awesome. There are always favorite poems & skits among our campers & staff members. The Cremation of Sam McGee is one that stands out for Boy Scout Camp. We will save the Webelos & Cub Camp favorite & reveal it for another post. So Camp Roosevelt wants to know-what is your favorite campfire skit/poem? Which ones do you think we should do or would like to see for Webelos & Cub weeks? We want to know! The Cremation of Sam McGee-By Robert W. Service There are strange things done in the midnight sun By the men who moil for gold; The Arctic trails have their secret tales That would make your blood run cold; The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, But the queerest they ever did see Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge I cremated Sam McGee... Have a great night. Sleep tight & we will send your Scouts safely on their way tomorrow morning! We hope our Troops enjoyed their time at camp & we hope to see all of you come back next year! Thank you for letting Camp Roosevelt host you!
