We just got back from one of our main workshop today, and well have some good new to release soon for 2015 ! Most of Japanese workshop/brands are tempering with quality to reduce cost of made in Japan products, and its very understandable, as the world economy is not at its best right now and it doesnt feel it will get better any soon. Here at Seidoshop, were not really salesmen and were not very good at doing business and marketing, but we really love Japanese craftsmanship. Not just made in Japan, but Traditionally made (in Japan). It has a cost, in terms of money, but also in term of production time, delays or stock management, and we know its hard to meet all worldwide Aikidoists expectations, but were straight with our policy. We offer and will continue to offer the best of traditional craftsmanship as long as its still exist in Japan (and if it disappear some day, so will we), we keep our price at a fair level, not for our customers, but for our craftsmen in priority... why ? Because they also need to make a living of their work, and they need to pass their skills to the next generation. Helping them to preserve the traditions in its very true form is our real first priority !
