We just learned in Sunday School at Harbour Shores Church about how Satan and his evil persecution of Believers in the early church spread the Gospel. God can take anything, even evil and use it for His honor and glory. This is not Satans world! It is our Lord Gods world! He has always been in control and always will be in control. Sunday School starts at 9am and we would love to have you visit! Dr. Don Jennings is our SS teacher teaching us from the book of Acts. The History Book. Worship service starts at 10:30 with our Pastor Don Jennings. Google up Harbour Shores Church Cicero, Indiana online and check out the website. This passage in Acts takes place right after Stephen was stoned to death for preaching about Jesus Christ and being a bold Christian. Also Barnabas traveled through dangerous territory and went after Saul staying in the little town of Tarsus to bring him on board. Barnabas was going to get Saul, whos name was changed to Paul, and mentor him because he just recently accepted Jesus as his personal Savior. As we all know, God had big plans for Paul. A lot of the early church members were missionaries spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus told them to go out into the world to preach, teach and heal in His name. Jesus told them to tell others that Salvation from eternal death in Hell only comes through Him, His finished work on the cross and His resurrection from the dead. The disciples obeyed and went. May our Lord help us to do the same and may we be willing to tell others the GOOD NEWS! Like Dr. Don Jennings said Sunday, WON BY ONE! Acts 11: The Church in Antioch 19 Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews. 20 But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also, preaching the Lord Jesus. 21 And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord. 22 The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23 When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose, 24 for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. 25 So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, 26 and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.
