We just made the rare foray to a restaurant we enjoy today. Unfortunately, one very brash woman at a table near ours persisted in using loud vulgar profanities. Finally, I asked her to please stop -- out of respect for kids in the place if nothing else. She just looked at me. She might have been a bit drunk, I dont know. The episode tarnished our experience, to be sure. I feel bad because I believe my decision to confront the womans total lack of decency caused embarrassment for my family and probably did nothing to help the situation. I probably did not address the matter very wisely. The use of profanity -- especially totally indiscriminate use -- is not an attribute of any decent person. I am reminded, though, that my own judgment could certainly be better as well. Amy Jean McCleery
