We just spent a little time with Lauren. Her stats are good and steady, with the help of pain meds and an amazing nurse named Corey. The goal for her tonight is to just rest while the nurse works to keep her balanced and comfortable. Nurse Corey reminded us that the recovery process is more like a marathon and never like a sprint. Lauren will let us know when she is ready to work on breathing by herself. Today, she let us know that she is in need of rest and has a little anxiety about her situation. Her little lungs are not used to the amount of blood flow and oxygen that she now has, and that will take time. Tomorrow is a new day and they will try to wean her from the tube again. Keep those prayers coming!
