We just spotted this Land Rover 110 outside a neighbours unit today. To the untrained eye it looks like a fairly standard Defender 110 with an external roll-cage and a UK farmer specification Ifor Williams canopy. This is in fact, a Defender worthy of truly legendary status! This is the same Land Rover Defender that in 2008 Yorkshire farmer and explorer Steve Burgess drove from his home, across the Russian continent in winter before making the first successful crossing of the Bering Strait in a road vehicle. The vehicle was specially adapted with the help of our friends at Protection & Performance . Dan Evans at P&P created the tracked conversion to cope with deep snow and ice in Siberia and the detachable float system (attached to the heavy-duty sill brackets) that were fitted for the 56 miles of ocean that separates Siberia and Alaska. MUD supplied seat rails for the journey making them the only pair of MUD seat rails to ever cross the Bering Strait! Although this Defender is worthy of a place in any museum, its still working for a living on the farm...
