We just watched the MOST interesting dance in our back yard. There was a snake clear at the back by the fence, and 3 pairs of birds - 3 different TYPES of birds, mind you - were working together to make sure it didnt get anywhere near the trees and bushes (where they presumably have nests). One pair continually swooped around swishing their tails up and down, and back and forth, and splaying their wing feathers out to look big. One of that pair (Im thinkin MAMA!) would periodically swoop in and peck at the snake. Meanwhile, the other two pairs kept flying around in circles at differing levels, so the snake was continually surrounded by moving birds. It was fascinating!
