We just watched the Normal Heart on HBO. Absolutely riveting! Having survived the terrible plague that very nearly wiped out a generation of gay men, we cried so much watching history being shown. It was very personal to us. Remembering our lost friends and a very dark period in gay life, we could relate to every scene. Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, Julia Roberts and just about every out gay actor in Hollywood gave moving and heartbreaking performances. Our hats off to Ryan Murphy for a great job of directing. I recommend this to all young gay people. It will give them a sense of history. Older gay people will be reminded of their worth. Straight people will get a glimpse into gay life, and our struggles. The only negative thing is, this film should have been made 30 years ago.
