We just went back to see Jaina, and stood in on Doctors rounds. The doctors and nurses are not sugar coating anything for us, and we are hearing things like, She is very sick, I cant tell you if she will live, or if things will turn around but as her parents you have to have hope to the very last minute, We are definitely not out of the woods yet.. Jaina has a lot of bleeding going on, the nurse said pulmonary edema, her lungs are filling with blood because her heart is backing up, her capillaries are leaking and she has what they call acute kidney failure due to her heart not functioning. They are having trouble with Ecmo cutting out and are concerned with that because they cant get the flow up to the level they need her to be. As I stood there trying to swallow all of this and staring, helplessly, at my beautiful baby girl all I could hear in my mind were these two words, TALITHA KOUM. I began repeating it in my head over and over and then had to walk out because its so hard to stand there knowing you cant do anything. I went to the only place I know to pull myself together and find some hope to cling to.. Jesus! The story in Mark chapter 5 is all I could think of.. Jesus says, Dont be afraid, just believe. He then walks right into a situation where people are mourning the death of a little girl and he says, The child is not dead, but asleep. Then the two most powerful words come from the Healer himself, Talitha koum! Which is translated to, Little girl, I say to you, get up! She got up!! I am speaking these words over our baby Jaina Mae, Talitha Koum! She is not dead, she WILL NOT die.. Surely she shall LIVE! In Jesus Mighty Name, I proclaim life over her body! AMEN!
