We know everyone has been wondering what has happened to the Flight Of Ikarus. No need to worry, Richard Foster and Richard Bird are safe and sound and the delay is quite normal in this part of the world. It is all down to changes in logistics and the need to apply for new permits to allow the guys to continue north. The original planned route was scuppered by the lack of fuel within the aircrafts range, fuel that was there on the way down! But with manic re-routing by General Aviation Support Egypt - G.A.S.E. the crew do now have a new plan which will see them depart tomorrow for Lokichoggio and then on to Damazin in Sudan, Asmara in Eritrea, Port Sudan and then back to Egypt. The main delay though is trying to get the permits changed quickly and the Easter Holidays have held things up as well as the weekend which starts on a Friday in Sudan. But, if all goes well they should be on their way out of Kenya on Sunday. During the delay the crew have passed the time visiting a local wildlife orphanage and of course, enjoying the aviation-style hospitality of the Aero Club of East Africa. The photos show the animal orphanage and the aeroclub :-)
