We know how people in the bible were persecuted, envied, despised, humilated - even to a point sometimes when it almost meant being killed, not because they were bad people but simply because the FAVOR of God was upon them, and it was apparent that they were blessed. Abel was very much envied by his brother Cain because he knew God was pleased with his sacrifice; Joseph was envied by his brothers that he was sold as a slave; David was belittled by his older brother, Mary had to hide for a while after accepting to be the mother of Jesus, Daniel and friends were thrown into the fiery furnace, Ester fought for her people, Paul suffered in prison. These were people though favored by God, were very much envied and hated. Today, we declare we are blessed, favored, and loved -- but does a simple persecution make you give up your faith at times?
