We know many of you will remember Stephanie Dempsey from her courageous testimony before Congress this past summer on her lifelong battle with heart disease. Sadly, Stephanie passed away on December 15th at the age of 44. A passionate and eloquent voice for those living with chronic diseases, Stephanie was a Go Red For Women - American Heart Association spokesperson, and also worked on our Are You Covered? campaign, in addition to her work with Youre the Cure. We wanted to share this news with her fellow advocates. “We join Stephanie’s loved ones in mourning her loss,” said Nancy Brown, CEO of the American Heart Association. “Her devotion to our cause, while battling her own illness, is a testament to the kind of person she was. Her legacy will continue as we continue seeking ways to help and improve the lives of everyone afflicted by heart disease.”
