♔ We like #Twitter but have no illusions as to the state of digital privacy today. None whatsoever. Whether we like it or not, the NSA’s, ISNU’s, and CSEC’s of the world are not going away any time in the foreseeable future. Add to this Edward Snowden’s revelations, individual and corporate interests (like Al Waleed and the Saudi Royal Family being the 2nd largest shareholder in FOX NEWS and owning a $300 million pre-IPO stake in #Twitter – see bit.ly/1d162GV) and you’ll quickly see that “we hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office.” ;) But finally there appears to be a secure and robust alternative to Twitter. Currently in alpha development, #TWISTER is a decentralized social network that, in theory, can’t be shut down by any one entity. What’s more, Twister is designed to prevent other users from knowing whether you’re online, what your IP address is, or whom you follow. Just another example of our continued desire for privacy and anonymity. What do you think?
