We live in a world that is filled with technology. We are in a very fast paced society. Power and possessions seem to consume the hearts of most people. The holiday season pushes forward, Christmas songs are already playing, yet many do not pause long enough to give thanks unto God. The very creation of life began with God. How do we expect to have happiness, contentment, and JOY without a close personal relationship with the one who created us? He designed it to be so. He desires our worship. With all the things that we are surrounded with, cell phones, computers, television, radios, stores, traffic, and of course the constant effort to make a living it is sometimes a little difficult to stop. It is sometimes difficult to stop, relax, and have quiet time, for ourselves, and more importantly for Him. Can we hear His still small voice? Have we taken the time to listen? During this time of Thanksgiving I would like to encourage each of us to pause, slow down, and give Thanks: To the Lord of Lords - The King of Kings. Psalm 136: 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. 3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. 4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. 5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever. 6 To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever. 7 To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever: 8 The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever: 9 The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever. Lord help us this day to stop and consider all the things that you are. All powerful, all caring, Mighty God. Please forgive us of our shot comings and strengthen us by the power of your might. May we feel your presence in our lives and allow you to guide us. Amen.
