We live in a world today where we are expected to fit in and be normal. We are trained and expected to yearn for, to consume, and to chase what our society demands of us. Our customs and traditions whether they are benign or destructive become the very bars and shackles that imprison us to the status quo; to the ordinary! And that is not where Jesus lives! In Matthew chapter 8 we witness brief, yet profound encounters with Jesus where He challenges and invites His followers out of the ordinary to the other side where extraordinary adventure and an abundant life in Him await any who will just say YES and follow Him!
