We lived as a community,where popular views held sway hence sharing almost every single thing we had was the order of the day. The White man came,saw how synchronised we were in our activities hence exported our services via slavery. Whilst there our fore-fathers were still superlative & always worked for each other. This must have given birth to the concept of DEMOCRACY which today we have bastardized. The black man has a specialty in him which he has failed to cultivate and that is the YES,I CAN SPIRIT. Biblically its stated..... I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME. So,where lies our believe to turn this crazy scenario we find today into something better? We lost our VIRTUES to the masters of slavery who in return gave us GREED,PRIDE & EGO through drinks,gun powder,titles etc which now orchestrated separatism-Men from the Boys. These limited articles brought about THE BOSS SYNDROME which we apparently applied and still do apply negatively in our dealings daily. Brothers dont see themselves as brothers nor sisters as sisters. Shockingly wives & husbands do alike. Sadly so,today its everyman to thy tent. From family lines,community lines,ethnic lines and today its fed the fabrics of governance with persons who are indifferent to the plight of the society which they represent as we find public roads,schools,hospitals,pipe borne water,electricity & shockingly too even churches have all gone either bad or extinct giving way to privately owned institutions. Its true that government must be kept as small(manageable) as possible but can this be done in an Ill fated society where greed,ego & pride hold sway. Where security,electricity,pipe borne water & roads are nothing to write home about? Only if we can go back to our glorious past where one mans problem was the communitys. Where Uncles,Aunts,Cousins,Nephews,Nieces,Friends,Relatives were that which they were meant to be. I was born to hear of the era where kids switched homes during holidays but now that cant be done for fear of them not being initiated into covens of witchcraft & wizardry. I was born to hear of the era where relatives picked up theirs and trained to the highest level & even created jobs for them thereafter but now kids fend for themselves. How then will there be no BLACK KNIGHTS in town? Ive also heard of families sponsoring theirs abroad either for school,training or work but today families send theirs to early graves(untimely death) courtesy envy & bitterness,etc. How we got here isnt necessary but how do we cut this off should be our priority. The earlier we appreciate the truth as embedded in our religious beliefs the better. Not sycophancy but the truth,as we all have failed our creator by not showing enough of lifes basics such as Love,Care,Understanding,Sharing. We all have lost the beautiful Art of Giving. This piece is aimed at slowing our pace for self aggrandizement and to further encourage communality for these and many more are responsible for our stagnation. Permit me to end this pieces with an old nursery song which say....... WHERE EVER YOU BE WHERE EVER YOU GO DO NOT SAY YES WHEN YOU MEAN TO SAY NO. This simply means that we should go back to the true persons we were as our falsehood has taken us 54years backwards. CHEERS!
