We lost King Curtis in 1971 but he left a lot of classic Soul & Funk in the can even if the term Funk wasnt common place until after his death. Curtis was the Sax player on the Coasters classic Yakety Yak and worked with the cream of Soul and in 1965 created this brilliant piece of music that gets spun even in the 21st century. He also recorded the original theme song for the 1971 hit television show, Soul Train, titled Hot Potatoes. and over years worked in areas of Soul, Jazz, Funk, Pop and Rock n Roll.
