We lost Little Red today, she suddenly came down with something and appeared to be starting to molt two days ago, then yesterday she was aloof, never leaving the coop to eat or drink, refusing food and water when presented, and last night she passed away in the coop. She was a good laying hen, the smallest of her 2 siblings, the friendliest of the flock, always first to jump up on my knee to get first pecks on the daily treat pan of fresh corn & other assorted goodies. Just didnt seem right to not say something, she was only 10 months old, had a GOOD life, and was cared for as best as we knew how, may she RIP... We suspect it was the dreaded COCCI, any tips or advice is welcome that may prevent this from laying the rest of the flock to waste.
