We lost an old friend today. Good bye to our Evie, known in her youth as Evil Evie. The only rabbit ever to make Brandee McBride LaCava back down! She gained a reputation for being a tough little cookie and it served her well over the years. She was bonded to Martin for many years and they grew old together. They spent many of those years in a loving home but due to circumstances beyond anyones control were returned and spent their last couple of years at the Hollow as sanctuary bunnies. Miss Evie had been terribly ill with kidney failure and had done (we thought) a full recovery but unfortunately that was not the case. She relapsed without our realizing it. Her kidney function plunged again and though we tried to treat her - today brought seizures and Dr. Fahy performed the final kindness of allowing her to cross the bridge. Martin is doing well but has a re-occurrence of his leg cancer and will likely be joining his lady in the not too distant future. So much sadness lately.................. Rest in Peace little girl.
