We lost our sweet dane boy on Monday. Yesterday was especially hard, as it was our first day without him. Well yesterday evening, after graining the alpacas, my husband and I just stood out there beside one another watching our little herd, talking about life…and death…missing our Diesel dog. Very unexpectedly, Snoball, our old alpaca whose eye was removed last month (Id posted about her), came up from behind and pushed herself in between us, letting us pet and make over her. Now, while this old gal is very easy to handle, she is not a lovey-dovey alpaca, and generally takes a step or two away when I try to give her a good neck scratching. My husband and I were both amazed. Coincidence that this off behavior from her came when we were both out there grieving??? I have to think there was something more, that her years have made her more intuitive perhaps? I am so glad that this old girl came to live with us this year…
