We lost power last night around 9 oclock. They said it may be restored by Friday or Saturday. No problem right? I have a tractor with a 12,000 watt generator that connects to the PTO. So at six this morning I put fires in our two fireplace inserts, warms the house really well. All those trees I cut, rounded, split, toted and stacked come in pretty handy. Back to the generator. The first thing that happened was one of the hydraulic lines on the tractor ruptured and dropped the front end loader to the ground. So I couldnt move the tractor into position. So at first light t I removed the ruptured line and took it to the shop for a new one. BTW, did I mention the temperature was just above freezing. Thats okay because the wind was.blowing real hard. The reason for the power outage in the first place. So I get everything hooked up and then the generator gearbox started leaking. So I have limited use of the generator. But I did have time to drive it over to the community well house and recharged everyones tanks. Im keeping the generator gearbox topped off. After this event Ill disassemble and repair it. The skies are blue today, the sun is shinning brightly. I am warm, dry and have food in my tummy. I thank the Lord for all things. Think how much Im going to appreciate the power when it returns.
