We love him because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19 Let everything you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 If you love me, obey my commandments. John 14:15 We know that Jesus commandments are to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. He said, If you do these things, my joy will remain in his love. His joy will remain in you and your joy will be complete. To remain in his love means that you will continue to walk in his love, it will be working through you on continually. What God really wants from you and me is that we respond in love to what he has done for us. He wants our whole lives to be an act of worship, a loving response to him. He says that if we live this way then his joy will be in us all the time and our joy will be full. This is contrary to what we normally would think. Most people think that living a life of worship to God is boring and just plain religious, but the bible tells us that it is the way to have fullness of joy and a loving relationship with God.
