We love you KCR ! Chief Minister of Telangana State SK. Chandrashekar Rao Sahab said that within the next two years the face of Hyderabad has to be changed through an integrated approach of developing the existing roads and constructing 5-6 integrated sky ways with multiple layers of flyovers all over the city. For this the Chief Minister said that, an amount of Rs 25,000-30,000 crores would be spent by the Government phase wise. Interacting with Mr. John Farrow, Chairman, Dr. M Phani Raju, Managing Director and Dr T.S. Reddy, Senior consultant of LEA Associates South Asia, the consulting engineers and Planners, the CM said that, for the development of Roads the three pronged approach should be improvement of roads which are critical and typical in Old city, New city development and finally the HMDA Area development. Citing instances of severe traffic jams, CM mentioned examples of Uppal to City while coming from Warangal, LB Nagar to City while coming from Vijayawada and then the Punjagutta – Ameerpet Road. He said, that, because of PV Narasimha Rao Express High Way, reaching airport from the city, became an easy task. On the same lines in other parts of the city also people should not feel of traffic congestion. The CM said all roads leading to different districts from Hyderabad should be made traffic congestion free. The Chief Minister mentioned, that, Bangkok which suffered the worst, constructed super highways which could be experimented here in Hyderabad also. The CM also said that Rajiv Rahadari is a life line to North Telangana and it needs to be improved. He asked the representatives of LEA Associates to draw out special strategies to be adopted to ease out traffic congestion in city. He also told them to come out with a plan as to where elevated high ways could be constructed. The CM said that surroundings of Hyderabad are added with additional population every year and as such their growing needs are to be analysed. CM also mentioned about the growing number of vehicles in the city and said that if all the available vehicles are parked in Hyderabad at a time, there will not be any space left for people to live, which is known as “Grid Lock” phenomena. The CM also said that several national and international companies are coming forward to develop Hyderabad and invest for the same. The Chief Minister asked the LEA consultants to first identify the high density corridors of Hyderabad and measure their length and come out with a plan. He also asked them to identify places where large number of people travel every day and prioritise them. He also asked them to workout on the draining of rain water. Saying that nobody can stop the growth of Hyderabad City, the CM said, that, immediate focus for development of roads should be the GHMC area first and ultimately GHMC should complement into HMDA area. Regulating timings for different activities to reduce traffic congestion also to be studied said the CM. The CM has also preferred another airport in the Northern Part of Hyderabad to cater to North Telangana districts and almost 50% percent of the Hyderabad population. The CM said that people love to live in Hyderabad and several Officers and Judges after retirement have chosen Hyderabad as their residence. The CM quoted the example of former Chief Election Commissioner Lyngdoh. Deputy Chief Minister Sri. T. Rajaiah, Sri. S. Narsing Rao, Principal Secretary to CM, Sri. Somesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC, Smt. Smita Sabarwal, Special Secretary to CM, also participated in the meeting. --Adwance.
