We made it to Memphis yesterday, in one piece, I think. After - TopicsExpress

We made it to Memphis yesterday, in one piece, I think. After Macys lab work, we met with the wonderful ladies from the Tiara Tea Society. It was a great evening, and we are very excited that they have chosen Macy to be their princess for this year. She will be crowned at the event on October 5 at the Peabody Hotel. Cate has already started planning her outfit and such... oh my, is she excited?!! Today, we had an early morning at the hospital. We started with a doctor visit, then lumbar puncture after. She did really well with anesthesia this time. This was probably her best wake up yet. We came back to the Tri Delta Place (the former Grizzlies House) for some rest. She has her VERY LAST infusion of peg aspariginase this afternoon. We are glad to be done with this one, as it can cause a severe allergic reaction. Depending on what time we finish and how tired Jeremy is, well be heading home either tonight or tomorrow morning. As for me, Im managing. The pain is severe at times and Im losing muscle strength in my arm when the nerve is pinched. So for the first time ever, Im strictly following doctors orders. Im taking loads of medicine (my poor liver,) wearing my neck brace (need to do this more often,) and I havent picked up Macy at all. This is tough for me, because Im usually the primary caregiver for Macy, and Ive had to hand over the reins to Daddy. Hes doing a great job, but its an adjustment for me. I need to get myself back together so I can take better care of her. I also REALLY need to be able to teach! I have 6 full classes of wonderful students that are eager to learn biology, and Im determined to be in that classroom!!! Ill have an MRI Tuesday, then will see a neurosurgeon Wednesday. Thank you for all of your recommendations. Ill be seeing Dr. Miranne, then Dr. Oberlander for a second opinion, if needed. Once again, thank you for lifting us up in prayer. We are so blessed to have so many family and friends who are willing to help us in so many ways. No one fights alone, and no one supports alone! We love our family, friends, and community. We couldnt ask to be surrounded by better people!
