We maintain that the one who is in a better position to call for reconciliation is the person in control of power! Yahya Jammeh is in control of power and all State machinery that he uses against our citizens. Therefore he is the only one who can make this happen. There is nothing that is stopping Jammeh from going to GRTS tomorrow or call for a press conference and address Gambians directly. He can grant equal access to the opposition leaders to GRTS, Repeal draconian media or false information laws, he can release political prisoners who are believed to be wrongly convicted.. He can start with a statement like this...: Fellow Gambians we have come very far, we have worked hard to make Gambia a better place but we have made mistakes, we created enemies, divided our society, lost many innocent people along the way rightfully or wrongfully. From now on No more arrest, intimidation and detention past 72 hours, from now on I authorize the house of representatives to institute a Presidential term limit, I authorize the IEC to immediately institute electoral reform, I authorize the police to grant permits to opposition parties to freely conduct rallies. I will call for regular press conference at the State House.. I will review cases and release all political prisoners. Fellow Gambians I apologize to all those families who have been wrong during my administration and hope that all those who wrong me and call me names will also apologize. I will immediately constitute a high level independent citizen commission to start the ground work for national reconciliation, look into all murders and disappearances, tortures with the goal of finding justice for all our citizens. Finally, I invite all Gambians from all over the world to join me in making Gambia a more Democratic and free society.!!!! With a statement like this there will be immediate positive reaction from Gambians all over and the world over... THIS WILL MAKE JAMMEH NO LESS OF A MAN OR LESS POWERFUL PRESIDENT. INSTEAD HE WILL BEGIN TO LAY DOWN THE FOUNDATION FOR RECONCILIATION... ANYTHING LESS IS JUST AN EFFORT TO DISTRACT. SO JAMMEH CONTROLS EVERYTHING INCLUDING HIS OWN DESTINY... THIS IS WHAT IS EXPECTED OF SOMEONE WHO WANTS RECONCILIATION NOT FROM PEOPLE WITHOUT INFLUENCE WHAT SOEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
