We make a lot of beer and whiskey in Utah. What to do with all that spent grain? The answer: Feed it to cows and make some cheese! Apparently, cows go nuts for the sludgy remnants of brewing, and it adds important protein to their diet. Plus, its free for farmers. It turns out you can make a lot more than just cheese from spent grain, like lip balm, bread, dog treats and soap.
