We make several batches of poppy seed and nut beigli (2 small plates on right) every starting in late Nov/early Dec and freeze them. My husband is Hungarian and I am not. To save time we use a bread machine (dough cycle) to make the bread portion. For the dough, I use the recipe for Upside-Down Pecan Buns in my bread machine cookbook. For the fillings I follow the recipes in the Flavors of Hungary-Charlotte Biro. My husband rolls out the dough, I make the fillings. Team effort.
