We may not have gotten the major snow accumulation people were expecting in the Capital Region, but there was still a reason for many to panic last night. Facebook and Instagram both suffered an outage that lasted nearly an hour. Facebook said the disruption was caused by a technical change and wasnt a cyber-attack. This was not the result of a third party attack but instead occurred after we introduced a change that affected our configuration systems, its statement said.
