We may only have till June 1st, 2016 before others move in. We will secure our future by starting with medical dispensaries. We will be working hard to push for legalization in which may happens soon after dispensary licenses are issued to public. The Natalie M. LaPrade Medical Marijuana Commission and the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene are tasked with developing regulations for patient registry and identification cards, dispensary licensing, setting fees and possession limits, and more. The Commission will issue yearly request for applications from academic medical centers to operate medical marijuana compassionate use programs. Approved diagnosis: cachexia, anorexia, or wasting syndrome, severe or chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures, severe or persistent muscle spasms, or other conditions approved by the Commission. Possession/Cultivation: Patients are allowed to possess a 30-day supply (amount to be determined by the Commission). Beginning June 1, 2016, the Commission may issue the number of [dispensary] licenses necessary to meet the demand for medical marijuana by qualifying patients and caregivers issued identification cards.
