We met during high school. In California. Paula and I would later rent a studio apartment in NY together. And when I say studio, I mean studio. It was one room and a bathroom. And a stove in the closet! But we had a blast. We were kitty-corner from Macys. Although the wrong corner. So our view for the Thanksgiving Parade was of the air being let OUT of the balloons! She thought she would give NY a try - the voice was glorious and Blessed - but decided it wasnt for her. Too far from family and friends. She worried about that choice. Now, the only mistake you can make is not doing what makes you happy. When all is said and done, what else is there, really? The last messages exchanged, just two days ago, was about the fun we had that year, so long ago. And those friends she missed all those years ago, carried her on their backs every step. If you knew them, you wouldnt be surprised. They made her happy. So yes, she chose right!
