We met this adorable gal a little over a year ago when mom sought our help getting Lola to her initial consultation at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Chicago. Diagnosed with Apert Syndrome, Lola had just been the victim of cyber-bullying weeks earlier, horrifying mom, family, friends and total strangers. But like Lola, no one laid down. Instead, they fought back and started a campaign against cyber-bullying using social media and news media outreach. The results are impressive. More than 600 Likes on their Facebook page Lola’s Voice within 24 hours. Local and national news coverage. People coming from all walks of life showing their support. With more than 8,000 Likes today, well, I’m jealous. Haha … just kidding. Apert Syndrome causes the premature fusion of skull bones that can leave no room for the brain to grow, as well as the fusion of fingers and toes. This beautiful little girl had her first hand surgery last September (see the awesome before/after photos mom sent us!), and is getting ready for her 5th miracle flight back to Chicago for her second hand surgery. In between, Lola has learned to walk with the help of her walker, say her name, use signs to help her communicate, and more. Lola likely has many more trips to her doctors in the Windy City, and like Red Bull, we’re looking forward to giving her wings to get there. Another Day, Another Miracle Please take a few minutes and visit Lola’s Voice at https://facebook/LolasVoice. It’ll be the best part of your day.
