Drops 2.5kgs into this and will appreciate even more ground. Putting Tupac Amaru in for 2nd pick. Was super at Ballarat last start, carrying a big weight on the heavy track. Will appreciate the extra trip here. Throwing in Quest for Peace and Orion for 3rd and 4th picks. Selections: 1, 6, 12, 5 Flemington Race 3: Vintage Stakes over 1410m for the 3yos. All over Paximadia here. Finished last prep with a 3rd in a G1 and before that had form around Zoustar. Gets Nash on board and can see him being too good. Pyrrolic is the main danger, 1 from 1 and that win was very dominant. 2nd place has since run 2nd to Prince Harada, Good form. Throwing in I am Titanium and Le Mans for 3rd and 4th picks. Selections: 3, 7, 4, 6 Flemington Race 4: Listed Race here for the 3yo Fillies over the 1000m. Super Tough race here. Going Tweet, Sydney horses have had a great record so far going to Melbourne and her run in the Listed race at Scone before her spell was very good (especially for a Maiden). Trialled well, Nash on board and $8.50 are good enough for me. Calcatta at $13 holds some value. Good record at the trip and also won a Listed Race over 1100m at Morphetville in April. Hard to go past Don’t Get Excited. Form this preperation was faultless until last start when had excuses. Beat Bass Straight 3 back, that form is Super. Sheer Talent is the danger. 2 from 2 the trip, and although hasn’t fired first up previously has been competing in Group class races and comes into this on the limit. Launay is one who can’t be dismissed, Won 5 from 7 at the track and 5 from 12 at the trip, Has class. Molto Bene in for 4th pick. Selections: 8, 7, 1, 10 Flemington Race 6: The Bart Cummings, another Listed Race this one over 2520m. For me this is Sea Moon’s day, He’s not a super price but he has panels in class over this group and if he is to be any chance in the Cups this year he MUST win this. Remember this guy has wins over Dunaden, Fiorente, Red Cadeaux and the like, even with the 60kgs he should win. Stablemate Tanby is the danger, won 3 from 5 the trip and was 3rd last prep in the WFA Australian Cup. Putting Polish Knight in for 3rd pick. Showed plenty as a 3yo and hasn’t gone on with it, although run in the Colin Stephen behind Julienas had some good signs. 4th Pick going Moudre, always promising to win 1 but always finds a couple better, Will be running on. Selections: 1, 2, 6, 3 Flemington Race 7: The Edward Manifold Stakes, Group2 for the 3yo Fillies over 1610m. Hard to split Wordplay and Romantic Moon here. Going with Wordplay. Ran very well behind Savvy Nature in the Spring Stakes and is still improving. Romantic Moon has been running against the top fillies since her debut and hasn’t had a great deal of luck. The up and comer is Metaphorical who is 2 from 2 in easier grade but has plenty of upside. Throwing in Politeness for 4th pick. Take the 4 in the quaddie. Selections: 4, 3, 8, 6 Flemington Race 8: The Group 1 Turnbull Stakes over 2000m. A Super race here with plenty of live chances. Can’t go past Fiorente, Been with him all prep and his finish in the Feehan carrying 59kgs was awesome. Drops 2.5kgs into this and will be very tough to beat. The 3yo Filly Royal Descent is the main danger. Ran home super in the George Main behind Streama, will Love the rise in trip and on the minimum, She’s ready to go to the next level. Puissance De Lunes run in the Underwood was very very good off a slow tempo, was well back and wound up super late, Barrier 1 he shouldn’t be as far back and will be primed to finish strongly. Im worried big time about Jet Away, He CAN win this. Great record at the trip, proven first up performer and has a super Sprint, at $34 you can’t go wrong having something on him E/W. Go wide as you can in the Quaddie. Selections: 6, 16, 7, 13 Flemington Race 9: The Group 2 Gilgai over 1200m. Another tough sprint down the straight. Leaning to Aeronautical. First up run was super behind Sessions and meets him 1kg better for that. I can’t leave Sessions out, He has never run a bad run and is 1 from 1 at the 1200m. Steps in time has a near perfect record at the 1200m and in on the minimum she will be tough to beat. Whilst I never right off the Boom horses down the Flemington straight. Go as wide as you can in the Quaddie. Selections: 9, 4, 13, 1 Flemington Race 10: Blazer Stakes, Group 2 for the Mares over 1410m. Having a nice win bet here on Peron. Very good record and her first up run was very good behind Driefontein. Red Fez at odds offers very nice value and is crying for the 1400m. Mybenz was very good last start when wide, whilst for 4th I like Epingle fresh. Happy to take Peron straight out in the quaddie.
