We must always compare what teachers are saying to the words God - TopicsExpress

We must always compare what teachers are saying to the words God has given us in the Holy Bible. Man is subject to error and misunderstanding, but the Holy Spirit will guide us into all TRUTH. Dont put any teacher or preacher on a pedestal. Test what is taught with the Bible. Do a word search for the correct meaning. Cross reference. Determine who the audience is meant to be for any particular passage. Pray and submit to the teaching of the Holy Spirit and his illumination of the Holy Bible and understand it from a right perspective. It is NOT ABOUT US! It is about God and HIS throne and eternal purpose which is being worked out in the gap between eternity past and eternity future which we call time. Psalm 119:99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. Ephesians 4:10-16 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. 2 Timothy 4:1-4 4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 1 Corinthians 2:12-14 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
