We must never confuse the confident assurance of who we are, and - TopicsExpress

We must never confuse the confident assurance of who we are, and what we believe, for PRIDE. At some point in our lives, we must become confident, fully assured, FULLY PERSUADED even as the apostle Paul said “I am fully persuaded.” The problem nowadays is that our exposure to “every wind of doctrine” is almost DAILY!!! What with radio, TV, social media, etc. we are constantly hearing conflicting messages. However, the Gospel is NOT A MIXTURE of everyone’s teachings. The Gospel is very clear, very distinct, very ONE-SIDED, very UNBALANCED in that it does not compromise with anything anti-gospel, anti-grace, anti-Christ. Those who believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ may well be considered heretics, however this is nothing new, as Church history teaches us that the great fathers of the faith were considered to be the same. I find it interesting that we adore those great patriarchs of the faith, those great revivalists of the past, those reformers who so boldly dared to confront the establishments of their day, and destroy the sacred alters of false theology and anti-Christ doctrines of demons. They were called arrogant, prideful, unyielding, unrelenting, unrepentant, heretics who were full of error. And yet, WE PRAISE THEM FOR IT! Let me say my opinion here. I believe that the human condition has not changed over the past 2000 years. Those who are fully persuaded of the Gospel, those who preach the gospel, and live the gospel will be called the same things that these revivalists, reformers, and historic fathers of the faith were called. But let’s not use these accusations as a cause to become bitter. No! We love all the more, because we believe that ALL OF HUMANITY was included in Christ’s death on the Cross, and that we have NOTHING to boast about save the finished works of our perfect Savior. The entire Church Universal is ultimately going to give up the unbelief and give in to the Gospel of Grace. This is where we are all heading. And it is not only a happy destination, but it can be HAPPY JOURNEY for all who have begun eating of the finished works of Christ.
