We must not forget about the pioneers of the animal rights - TopicsExpress

We must not forget about the pioneers of the animal rights movement back in the 1940s and earlier when they were advocating for vegetarianism (and even veganism in the case of Donald Watson and The Vegan Society). At a time before factory farming existed, when all animals on farms would be considered by todays standards as happy meat or free range. The pioneers knew that exploiting and killing animals was wrong and inhumane. The word humane has been morphed into the lets kill them softly approach. As if killing innocent and vulnerable life is soft or gentle. Humane no longer means what it should mean- being merciful. It is so sad. We must take back the word humane. Its not how we use animals that makes us humane, it is when we choose not to use them at all that makes us humane. If you want to be humane to animals then you must be vegan.
