We must support them… Please - however you pray - do it for them Posted by: LGHR Published June 20, 2013, filed under Indefinite Detention We generally try to keep this site secular for one reason – that being that the supporters of the detainees are of many different faiths. But in this instance I am going to call on everyone reading this to pray, make duaa, think positive thoughts, whatever you do – for these detainees. Imagine being locked away in a hell – forever. A place where even toilet paper can be taken from you – and you must earn the right for a shower – whenever the guard feels like it. A place where the most basic human rights can be taken, even your right to die is refused – as we are seeing with the forced feedings! Imagine this – how many of us are perturbed when someone say – sits too close to us on the bus.. taking too much of our “personal space?” These men don’t even know the concept of such a thing! They cannot even use the toilet in private. In fact – sometimes they aren’t allowed to use the toilet at all… it is common practice to chain these men to the floor in stress positions that cause them to lose control of their bodily functions. I think most of us are well aware of the kind of treatment that goes on in Guantanamo. Now imagine knowing that you have to put up with this — indefinitely! And remember, suicide is not an option, they will stop that from happening in whatever way they have to. I ask those of you who pray to pray for these men. I am going to ask God to give them comfort, and to protect them as much as is possible, and I am going to ask Him to see this terrible law changed.. and see them released. Below are the names of those slated for the US Government’s version of Hell. And please – remember to use the badge on the right to WRITE to your representatives (If you are in the US) and let them know how you feel about this. If you are outside of the US please go to whitehouse.gov and use the contact form to write to Obama. FLOOD them with emails! Note: Two of the detainees have died while at Guantanamo, they are still listed below.
