We must understand that on this journey, we will encounter those who are givers and those who are takers. This is true not only in reference to others but we fall into one of these categories as well.Those who are givers love from the depths of their hearts, minds and spirits unconditionally with no expectations. Givers are only interested in being there, showing love and are rewarded simply by knowing that they have been blessed with the opportunity to give to someone else. Takers are the contrary, they are users and opportunists, always expecting others to cater to their every need while they turn their backs when they believe that someone needs them. Although most takers are in denial about their roles in the lives of those who they profess to love, they are guaranteed to continue their patterns of behavior because they believe that it is acceptable. Takers quickly become defensive when someone reminds them of the fact that they are, in fact, takers, rarely giving anything to anyone and when they do, in most cases, they do so begrudgingly. As a giver, you must always be mindful of potential takers, they will be certain to remind you that they never ask anyone to do anything for them yet they willingly accept, receive and benefit from anything and everything that is given to them. Takers will deplete you of everything that is in you, if you allow them to continue taking all that you have, you will have no desire to love, to give, to forgive or to be there for anyone. If you are a taker, you should reconsider your actions and work on changing your ways because they are not reflective of love. If you are a giver, dont allow takers to destroy your heart, causing you to second guess your willingness to give. Identify the takers in your life and take the necessary steps to protect the giver that lives within you.-T.James
