We need a special sitting to resolve this matter because the Selangor Mentri Besar (Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim) is not going to call for a water rationing given that his position as the Mentri Besar is somewhat shaky, he told a press conference at his service centre Saturday. With PAS pushing its meeting on the Mentri Besar crisis to Aug 17, the Klang MP said Khalid was unlikely to call for a water rationing exercise soon. He (Khalid) is fighting for his political survival and it is highly unlikely he would call for rationing, which would obviously look bad on him although it is the right thing to do, he said. He added that although the water level at the Sungai Selangor dam had increased to 32.1% on Saturday, it did not mean the situation was getting any better. This percentage does not factor in the rubbish and sand at the bottom of the dam. If you calculate these factors, our water reserves are definitely lower than 30%, he said.
